the WOMEN'S special
edition of Køn
magazine. Dedicated to
the human body and
sex talk.
No topic is off-topic. A college project.
You can often find the female body highlighted
through the layout designs of the magazine. I wanted to make sure that the inclusivity of all body types and ethnicities was successfully captured.
As a student, teachers taught me to try new designs. In my final year, I took that into thought and considered experimenting with a unique topic. There are plenty of magazines about general health, fitness and beauty. I took that and ran with the idea of a magazine about women and pleasure. Often a topic people find uncomfortable to talk about but it's 100% necessary to live a happy life.
Content page where the gorgeous female body guides your eyes through the page.
A WOMAN’S BODY IS TO BE CELEBRATED
ILLUSTRATION IS INK AND WATERCOLOUR
An
ODE
TO
MY
BODY
The image to the left is a personal article that I wrote about the difficulties of loving myself throughout the years. The illustration (illustrated by me) tells the audience that I often felt alone during my struggles with body image. By writing
this article I hoped I could reach others that could relate to it. Women need to realize that over time they can learn to accept themselves.
The design choice might be along the lines of simplicity. The simplicity of the layouts is purposely done so that the article items are easy to grasp and gain the reader's mind. Magazines want their audience to be intrigued with what they read. I believe my layouts make it uncomplicated to understand the sexual topics and toy descriptions.
